As we begin the 2019-2020 school term just one year after passing our $20.5 million-dollar school bond issue, I want to thank the community for their overwhelming support of the ongoing construction of our new high school. My pledge to each one of our citizens is to provide transparent, open and honest communication throughout the entire construction project. I, along with our school board, will wisely spend the dollars entrusted to us to build a new high school that will make all Long Beach residents, new and old, proud. As we begin construction on our new school, please know that we have also completed several other construction projects across the district including all new windows and doors at Reeves and Quarles. We have updated all lighting across the district and have installed energy savings thermostats in each of our buildings. In addition, all hallways and foyer areas at Harper have received a fresh coat of paint, and the parking lots at both Reeves and Long Beach Middle School have been paved. We have been successful with these improvements while maintaining our solid focus on academics and instruction. It is an exciting time to be a BEARCAT! I wish each of you a successful school year!!

As always... GO BEARCATS!
